Cafe interior with modern furniture and natural light

Our rooms

Three rooms across Melbourne, all built around the same idea: quiet enough to hear the grinder and nothing else.

Interior of the Fitzroy room

Fitzroy

219 Rose Street, Fitzroy VIC 3065

Hours
Monday to Sunday, 7.00 – 15.00
Seats
24 inside, 8 on the footpath
Brew bar
Two-group lever, three filter brewers
Notes
Quietest between 9.30 and 11.30 on weekdays

The first room, open since 2016. Music stays under conversation level and there is no takeaway queue past the bench, which is deliberate: the room was laid out so that people reading are not standing next to people waiting.

Interior of the Carlton North room

Carlton North

612 Rathdowne Street, Carlton North VIC 3054

Hours
Monday to Saturday, 7.00 – 15.00
Seats
36 inside, long bench for 10
Brew bar
Three-group, batch brew, two filter brewers
Notes
Step-free entry, accessible WC

The largest of the three and the only one with a kitchen. Batch brew runs from opening until two, and the long bench takes laptops in the morning and nothing but cups after midday.

Interior of the Seddon roastery room

Seddon roastery

34 Gamon Street, Seddon VIC 3011

Hours
Friday and Saturday, 8.00 – 14.00
Seats
12, mostly at the roasting bench
Brew bar
One-group, single filter brewer
Notes
Open cupping every second Saturday, 10.00

The roastery counter is open two days a week, next to the drum and the packing bench. Bags come off the sealer and onto the shelf, which is the only place you can buy coffee roasted the same morning.
